Free yourself - get it out!
The "Ruby" video above belongs to Emma Allen of http://emmaallen.org/ . I love love love Emmas' expressive art videos and they have served as a true coping mechanism for me over the years. This video specifically has reset thoughts of suicide, burnout, failure, enslavement for me but most importantly my purpose, my worth, my family and my motivation. As this video plays out, I can relate to being old before young - like a Benjamin Button effect. Life experiences have definitely put me in a place to where I had to display total strength as a child. I birth buds through my oppositions that bloomed into endless opportunities.
I began to "free myself" when i became conscious of situations that suppressed, oppressed and silenced me; this has been extremely hard to conquer and a working progress every day. Me being a black female has made it even harder.
As I sailed on this journey I've learned there's a difference between Speaking up v/s Speaking out. Speaking up entails within your circle or confidential range. Speaking Out is a revolutionary act, reaching a influencers whom birth Resolutions for restoration.
Many of us feel "we are alone" but our neighbors, church and immediate family members, medical providers, coworkers ,and even prosecutors have experienced some of the same struggles we have..
We as a community, county, state, region and nation lack transparency, compassion, accountability and rehabilitation. When your higher power gets you through sometime - it's not just for you and Life is not a "do it yourself" project. if life was just about you, there would be no one else here. Learn how to free yourself, share your pathway to victory with others regularly and be respectable enough to understand your way is not the only way or that the person just hasn't gotten it yet; love them anyway - that's "love".
